Practising Privileges
Medical practitioners wishing to consult with or treat patients at Musgrave House must apply for and
receive written approval of practising privileges before commencing practice.
Applicants must:
– Provide proof of identity and current professional registration, including a licence to practise where required.
– Demonstrate appropriate qualifications, training, experience and competence for the services they intend to provide.
– Provide evidence of appropriate professional indemnity cover.
– Complete the required AccessNI and other relevant background checks.
– Attend an interview as part of the application process.
– Provide evidence of annual appraisal and compliance with applicable revalidation requirements.
– Agree their scope of practice and sign the practising privileges agreement.
– Complete the establishment’s induction and comply with its policies, procedures and clinical governance arrangements.
Approval is subject to satisfactory completion of all required checks,
review by the Medical Advisory Committee and sign-off by the Registered Person. Practitioners may provide only the services approved within their agreed scope of practice.
Practising privileges agreements are reviewed at least every two years. Privileges may be restricted, suspended or withdrawn in accordance with the establishment’s policy.
